At Anchan Villas, we believe that honoring our local traditions is just as vital as building beautiful homes. To celebrate this historic milestone, we were proud to contribute 20,000 Baht to support the festival’s sacred activities and community kitchens.
A Bicentennial of Faith
Originating in the 19th century in the Kathu district, the Vegetarian Festival has grown from a local ritual into a world-renowned cultural phenomenon. It is a time for:
- Purification: Devotees wear white and follow a strict vegetarian diet to cleanse the body and spirit.
- Devotion: Powerful rituals, from fire-walking to grand street processions, showcase the incredible spiritual endurance of the Ma Song.
- Unity: The festival brings together families, neighbors, and visitors in a shared journey of mindfulness and merit-making.
Supporting Our Local Roots
The Thalang and Cherngtalay areas, where many of our Anchan Villas projects are located, are home to vibrant local shrines that keep these traditions alive. Our donation of 20,000 Baht was a gesture of gratitude and support for the tireless work of the shrine volunteers and the preservation of the unique Thai-Chinese heritage that defines Phuket’s identity.

“To grow with purpose is to respect the soil in which you are planted. Supporting the Vegetarian Festival is our way of giving back to the culture that makes Phuket so extraordinary.”
